31 July 2026 — A sudden and intense downpour at around 4:00 p.m. yesterday triggered flash flooding across various parts of Churachandpur, causing significant damage to homes, businesses, and institutions. Our Church Headquarters was also severely affected when the brook adjacent to the campus overflowed, sending floodwaters into the basement and ground floor of our offices.
The flood caused extensive damage to property and materials. Among the items affected were Bibles, books, office documents, files, and stationery supplies stored in our stationery shop. The Music Institute and music store room also suffered heavy losses, with several musical instruments and equipment—including drums, guitars, digital pianos, sound systems, mixers, cables, and other accessories—being damaged by the floodwaters.
Immediately after the flooding, members of our staff and volunteers worked tirelessly until late into the night to remove water, clean and salvage books and documents, and begin the process of restoring the affected areas. Their dedication and hard work during this difficult time are deeply appreciated.
In view of the extensive damage and the ongoing recovery efforts, the Church Headquarters offices will remain closed today to facilitate cleaning, salvaging, and restoration work.
Preliminary estimates indicate that the losses will amount to several lakhs of rupees. A detailed assessment of the damage is currently underway.
We thank everyone who has extended their support and prayers, especially Sielmat Bible College students and members of the Sielmat Local Church, during this challenging time. We request the continued prayers of all our members and well-wishers as we work to recover from this unfortunate incident and restore normal operations as soon as possible.
